Join in on a day of apple pressing fun. Bring your own apples from the garden, some empty bottles (and just a bit of elbow grease!) and take your self-?pressed apple juice home with you.
The Apple Pressing day will be held on Saturday 1st October from 13:00 to 18:00 outside the Village Hall. This proved very popular last year so don’t leave it until the last minute to press! On the morning of the Village Apple Pressing day we’ll trawl public apple trees in the village to fill a “community apple bucket” so as to give anybody who has no fruit trees of their own the chance for some juice! If you fancy doing some picking, whether for the community or for yourself, then meet on the village green at 10:00. We’ll finish at 12:00 with the main event starting at 13:00.
Also for the first time we are having an Apple Pie Contest which is open to everyone. We know we have some great cooks in the village, so give it a try and bring along your pie !! There is a prize for the best one -? and you may win the coveted Wooden Spoon!!
