Services

Horningsea is not a large village but has some useful services and facilities.
The village has a  farm shop  to the north end of the village, a pub at the south end, a restaurant offering accommodation,  2 garden centres, and a number of people who run small businesses from home. There is a regular bus service and Waterbeach railway station 2 miles to the north. The nearest post office is at Waterbeach.

The Plough and Fleece pub is a regular meeting place for locals to both drink, eat and play petanque as well as indulge in the monthly book club and Tuesday quiz nights

Horningsea Stores in the Plough and Fleece – a small village shop   stocking all your essentials as well as fresh bread, home-roasted ham and homemade jams and chutneys.

The Crown and Punchbowl offers restaurant facilities and accommodation

A Caravan Club Certified Location is at the northern entrance to the village

Sam Morris Bread and Egg Deliveries Organic and free range products delivered on Saturday mornings

Cambridge Garden Plants sells perennial plants from a natural garden landscape

Scotsdales Garden Centre sells a range of gardening equipment, plants and sheds and has a cafeteria

Mobile library stops in Horningsea at the bus shelter on alternate Tuesday afternoons

National Rail – Waterbeach Station is on the Kings Cross line with a fast service to London

Whippet Coaches provide the 196  service, Mon-Frid, between Cambridge, Horningsea and Waterbeach.

Beaches Community Car Service is a voluntary, inexpensive service for all reasonable local journeys

Panther Taxis
(C715715) now operate a metered service from Horningsea, making this cheaper than before.

Sustrans cycling route 11, via the River Cam towpath, offers a quiet, safe  and pleasant cycling & walking route to Cambridge, Waterbeach and Milton
