USAF aerial photos of Horningsea from 1944

As found by Richard Holton on the Historic England website here are a set of photographs taken by the United States Air Force in 1943 and 1944. It seem that they were probably practice photos — the aerial reconnaissance fight crews were practicing for the pictures that they would take over Europe in the run up to the invasion. Given the density of US airbases in East Anglia, Horningsea was particularly well photographed: we feature in at least three.
