Thursday Night Jam Session in the Plough and Fleece

Just like every Thursday night, there will be a jam session in the Plough and Fleece. All comers welcome but to expect to sing or play a tune. People of all ages and musical skill play their music on the night.

HRA Village Apple Pressing Day

Join in on a day of apple pressing fun. Bring your own apples from the garden, some empty bottles (and just a bit of elbow grease!) and take your self-­?pressed apple juice home with you.

The Apple Pressing day will be held on Saturday 1st October from 13:00 to 18:00 outside the Village Hall. This proved very popular last year so don’t leave it until the last minute to press! On the morning of the Village Apple Pressing day we’ll trawl public apple trees in the village to fill a “community apple bucket” so as to give anybody who has no fruit trees of their own the chance for some juice! If you fancy doing some picking, whether for the community or for yourself, then meet on the village green at 10:00. We’ll finish at 12:00 with the main event starting at 13:00.

Also for the first time we are having an Apple Pie Contest which is open to everyone. We know we have some great cooks in the village, so give it a try and bring along your pie !! There is a prize for the best one -­? and you may win the coveted Wooden Spoon!!

Horningsea Residents Association Village Day on 25th June 2011

The HRA are pleased to announce that the 2011 Village Day will take place on the 25th June, starting from 2pm on the village green (entrance is next to the bus shelter). All are welcome. Last year’s event was a great day, despite the rain. This year let’s hope for sun and an even more enjoyable day.

Events planned include:

– Pony rides
– Horse display
– Husky demonstration
– Adults and Children races
– Tug of war
– Pull the fire engine
– Pet show
– Raffle

Throughout the day there will be a bouncy castle, stalls, a bottle tombola, face painting, a photo exhibition and pony rides. There will be a hands on display of the fire engine, other than when the villagers are heaving it across the green! Cream teas and refreshments will be served throughout the day.

Afterwards, in the evening, there will be a disco and BBQ (bring your own food to cook and something to drink).
