HORNINGSEA VILLAGE CYCLE RIDE

Sunday 29th April 2012

HRA logo

Dear Friends,

HRA would love to invite you to join us for our cycle ride. This is our first event of this type and is suitable for young and old alike!

The total distance is only 7 miles and is broken into two sections with a refreshment break/play area planned in, just over half way round.

We aim to ride at a slow pace (suitable for the youngsters) starting at 10.30am from the Plough and Fleece car park and there will be front and back marshals (as well as roving ones!) to help you safely on your way round.

Our ride will take us from the Plough and Fleece, north up the High Street and Clayhithe Road to the parking area opposite the Bridge Hotel, just after Clayhithe bridge; then south along the river path and on to Milton Country Park. After a short break we will return via Baits Bite Lock along the track past Biggin Abbey and back to the road where we can follow the Horningsea Cycle Path north again, finishing our ride at the Plough and Fleece where you can buy soup and a roll or order a full Sunday lunch if you want. (To order a full Sunday lunch, please let Ro know in advance on 01223 860795).

Safety is paramount to the enjoyment of our ride and we are very fortunate to have the support of P.C. John Coppard and Rob Turner of Ben Hayward Cycles who has offered us a demo/talk on cycle maintenance. This will take place on April 1st which will give everyone ample time to tune up their bikes or take them in to Ben Haywards shop at Notcutts, where they can be professionally serviced; this will include a special discount of 10% on any parts used in the service.

If you would like to come on the ride and to the cycle maintenance demo/talk on April 1st, please download the flyer and complete the slip and return it to Bert Santilly by Monday 26th March because we will need to know numbers..

We really hope you will be able to join us and look forward to hearing from you

Bert Santilly

Horningsea Residents Association (HRA) AGM 2012

The Horningsea Residents Association (HRA) are having their Annual General meeting on Wednesday 11th January at 7.30 in the Village Hall

Come listen to what happened during 2011 and what will be happening during 2012.

The HRA aims to provide village events at a low cost to the residents. In the year we organise a village day consisting of Childrens events, a bbq and a disco. Other regular events include boat trips, firework display in November, pensioners party, Christmas festivities, talks, cheese and wine evenings, along with a 100 club, which is our main fund raising source.

Remember this is YOUR residents association and we want you to be involved. All residents of Horningsea are by default members!
