St Peter’s Church, Horningsea on Saturday 4 June at 19.30

Cambridge Summer Music Festival – Music in Quiet Places present the

Trianon Quintet Concert  – “The Italian Invasion”

Emphasising the dance rhythms and folk melodies at the core of 18th Century music, this is a return to the vigorous frivolity of the way the music was written to be performed!

Tickets from www.cambridgesummermusic.com or at the door or from Cambridge Live Tickets 357851.

Prices are £15 or £13 concessions, £7.50 students/under 26, £5 unwaged.

This promises to be a very special evening and we hope to fill the church!

    HORNINGSEA HERALD April 2016

    Here’s the Herald for April.

You’ve probably seen the hand drawn village map hung up in the bus stop and a few other locations. This map was made by Jane Adams and Peter Conroy quite a few years ago. Sadly Jane died earlier this year and Peter (the postie) died at the end of February. In their memory the map is in this month’s Herald. It’s well worth printing out to hang on the fridge door. Especially for those occasions when some lost delivery driver knocks on your door looking for a house in the village.

The work on the church is now also complete and there’s a few photos inside. It’s the Grand Opening this month too!

    Enjoy Spring.

    Horningsea Herald March 2016

    Here’s the
    Herald for March 2016..

With the opening of the refurbished Crown and Punchbowl, it is heartening to see that Horningsea is once again a two pub village. With so many villages having their only pub closed, it is a cause for celebration, and with two pubs it’s easy to do so (Horningsea Pub Crawl?)! Our village must keep using both of these fine drinking and eating establishments. Use your local pub or lose it…..!

    Plough and Fleece’s website

    Crown and Punchbowl’s website

On a less positive note, once again the introduction of faster broadband to Horningsea has been postponed to June 2016. The full details are included in the Herald, but the representatives of Connecting Cambridgeshire and BT OpenReach will be at the next Parish Council meeting. Hopefully they will be able to explain why every other village around here has a decent internet connection, but Horningsea does not.
