Australia Day celebration

Jan 26th 7:30pm

Come and celebrate the village’s link with Australia in the Plough and Fleece this coming Sunday at 7:30.

Hear about Joshua Moore, son of this village, who sailed to Sydney in 1815 and named his estate Horningsea Park.

Listen to Vee Saunders describe her visit to Sydney to meet the mayor of this district.

Join in the choruses to the robust sounds of local Aussie folk group ‘Last Night of the Poms’.

Hear a live audio link with a resident of Canberra, where Joshua Moore took out the first ticket of occupation.

All this and more, including readings and short talks on Australian life and culture.
