Horningsea Herald January 2018

Here’s January’s Horningsea Herald.

It’s a quiet start to the year, but don’t forgot the HRA AGM on the 24th in the village hall.

Please do come along and see what the committee organised last year, and join in if you can this year. It’s busy little village and volunteers/help are always very welcome!

There’s also another important meeting about the Waterbeach Barracks Development on this coming Wednesday (10th) again in the village hall.

This development will have a large impact on this village for decades to come. Now is the time to put forward your opinion/support. You can comment on the application on Cambridgeshire County Council’s Planning Portal.

EDIT: A late minute event is a Burns night – Poems at Pints at the Plough and Fleece on Thursday 25th January.

Waterbeach New Town meeting – Horningsea Parish Council

Wednesday, 10th January, 19.30 to 21:00, Horningsea Village Hall

All residents are invited to an exhibition and presentation by RLW, developers for the eastern part of the site which includes the proposed new rail station. They are in consultation with SCDC planners in preparation for submitting an outline planning application. This is likely to include up to 5,000 dwellings, a further secondary school and either one or two primary schools, in addition to other supporting facilities and land uses. This is in addition to the proposals by Urban & Civic for the western portion of the site for up to 6,500 dwellings and a range of supporting infrastructure, including a secondary school and three primary schools
RLW will be there with an exhibition followed by a presentation at 20:00 and a Q&A session. We aim to finish by 21.30.

It would be helpful for seating arrangements if you could let Margaret Starkie or Hayley know if you will be there.

Horningsea Residents Association (HRA) AGM

The HRA is having its Annual General Meeting on the 24th of January at 19:30 in the Village Hall.

It’s when we discuss the events of last year and plan the coming year.

All the village is invited and most welcome to listen to what happened during 2017 and get involved with what will be happening in 2018!

We’re always on the lookup for new committee members who want to get involved and help their village!
