St Peter’s Church services during November

A Time To Remember

Saturday 4th November, 15.00, St Peter’s Church

As the beginning of November includes All Saints Day and All Souls Day, this year there will be a short service at St Peter’s Church on Saturday 4th November at 15.00 when we will remember all those from the village who have died in the last year. Families are also invited to come along and ask us to remember their loved ones whenever and wherever they died. It would be good for families to make sure the family grave is tidy for that day. If you don’t have a family grave, why not “adopt” a grave that looks as if it would benefit from some love and attention. At the end of the service candles will be distributed. These can be placed on the family’s grave or in front of the Memorial Stone. We hope that the names of those who have died recently will have been inscribed on the stone in time for the service.

Remembrance Sunday

12th November 10.15 in the church, 10.45 at War Memorial in Jubilee Gardens

The Village Service of Remembrance for those killed in Wars will be on Sunday 12 November. There will be a short service in the church at 10.15. At 10.45 we will gather at the War Memorial in the Jubilee Gardens for the Act of Remembrance, the two minute Silence, the Last Post, the laying of Poppy Wreaths on behalf of various village organisations. Everyone is invited back to the church for a hot drink to warm up after the service.
