Horningsea’s Candlelit Carol Service and other services for December

Sunday 11th December at 18:00

The Candlelit Carol Service returns this year after two years of Zoomed Carols. The oil lamps will be lit and the church filled with candles – thanks to Liz Harrison and her team of workers. The bells will ring out. The Christmas Tree has been kindly donated by Scotsdales. The service begins with a young soloist singing the first verse of Once in Royal David’s City and continues with the well known readings telling the prophesies and then the events of that first Christmas. Children will be asked to carry lanterns around the church to the crib for a blessing. This year in addition to our favourite Carols sung by the congregation we will have a contribution by HYPO (Horningsea Young Person’s Orchestra) as well as a Carol sung by Frank’s group. There will be a ukulele rendition of We Wish You a Merry Christmas while we have coffee and mince pies!

The message is that you need to come early to make sure of getting a seat and wrap up warm! Contributions of mince pies are welcome and if you want to help light the candles we will start lighting at about 17.15
