Horningsea Herald September 2020

The nights are drawing in and school’s back. Almost back to normal? Don’t worry here’s September’s Horningsea Herald.

The consultation on moving the sewage works comes to an end on the 14th of September. It is looking likely that site 3, i.e. just next to Horningsea, will be the chosen location.

If you think it stinks that Green Belt land will be ruined in order to build a high density housing project just next to the A14 (flyer attached for the North East Cambridge district (NECAAP) consultation) then make sure you go comment before the 14th.

If you live on the south side of Horningsea then you will see the 26metre high digester towers (about six storeys high). Even worse at night with the illuminated towers. You will hear the noise of the machinery and probably a bit smelly too! If you travel (walk cycle or car) then the 146 lorries delivering slurry to the site every day will affect you!

Read about the new district here:

On nicer news, the church is resuming live services on Sunday the 13th and the Crown and Punchbowl have a special offer for us locals!

Finally read about a previous inhabitant of Horningsea and his experience on the Atlantic convoys during WWII.
