HRA Apple Pressing day
The fifth annual Apple Pressing day will take place on Saturday the 4th of October at 13:00.
Bring your own apples from the garden, some empty bottles (and just a bit of elbow grease!) and take your self-pressed apple juice home with you. As with last year’s event villagers apples will be placed in a communal pile for pressing. You can press just your own fruit but the previous three events have been very popular and you might have to wait.
On the morning of the Village Apple Pressing day we’ll trawl public apple trees in the village to start the “communal apple bucket”. If you fancy doing some scrumping, whether for the community or for yourself, then meet on the village green at 10:00. We’ll finish at 12:00 with the main event starting at 13:00.
Also this year, instead of an Apple Pie Contest, we’ll be having a “Anything edible with apples” contest. You may win the coveted Wooden Spoon!!
Email hra.events@gmail.com or ring Chris on 07739 578 612 for details.

HRA Village Day 2014 – Report
Village day was good fun this year despite fewer people than previous years. Possibly the unpredictable weather and a World Cup match later that day. But it was fun for the rest. The usual array of stalls along with the local farmer’s Lincolnshire Red cattle.
The BBQ and disco in the evening were also fun!

Horningsea Herald June 2014
A fairly full Herald this month. It’s a busy month but it also contains reports on two popular Horningsea 800 events from May with photos. Check the village website for more photos.
There’s also a few attachments of various upcoming events and two advance notices of events for July.

Work appears to have started on the telecommunications cabinet opposite Dock Lane. Here’s to faster internet speeds for the whole village!
As this email is being written the village appears to be very wet. Let’s hope there is just enough rain to water our lawns/allotments and summer will be well and truly here come the first of June.
Kind regards
The Editorial Team
