Warm-up for Horningsea 800 on Sunday 22 September (pm)

A warm-up to the Horningsea 800 celebrations:

Come and explore the history of farming in Horningsea –

Find out what the Domesday Book said about farming here, read the Leys School record of farming in the 1950’s, look at the photographs of farming in the early years of the 20th century, read about harvest, haystack arson, farming triumphs and disasters in the Horningsea Chronicles.

Chat to those who have grown up in the village and remember the horses and carts and the days when farm hands lived in all the cottages.

Bring along any photographs or memorabilia and join in over a cup of tea – all welcome!

This is a taster for a series of events to celebrate the church’s 800 centenary, and to launch an appeal for updating our slightly medieval social facilities.
